One of the students in the Dakota High-5 class drew this picture of a butterfly. She even wrote “kimamana,” meaning butterfly, without any help from an adult!

January 12th, 2011 by CassandraAt Anishinabe Academy, the theme of last week for the Dakota High-5 students was hands and hand washing. They learned learned new vocabulary (dirty/not dirty, thumbs, fingers, steps of washing hands, dry your hands), learned a new song – Napahuƞka Togiya (Dakota version of Where is Thumbkin) and made hand-themed art!
