AECP engages in a variety of research, education, and systems work directed toward increasing the quality of children’s care that respects and honors the language and culture of families, increasing the recognition and value of the work of early childhood, and improving compensation for the work of a diverse child development workforce.

The mission of the Alliance of Early Childhood Professionals is to advocate for and support child development professionals in order to create a quality, culturally sensitive early care and education for Minnesota’s children.

The Alliance of Early Childhood Professionals has several major projects: Wicoie Nandagikendan Urban Immersion Program and Hands-On-Teach-To-Learn. In 2012, AECP will be spinning off Wicoie Nandagikendan as an independent non-profit and will be continue its Hands-On-Teach-To-Learn (HOTL), Leadership Circle programs and MenTeach.
